Bella manages the supply list from the Elmer's 1st Day in-store display as we #BagItForward
|
It's great to receive, but it's even better to give!
This weekend I had the pleasure of participating in a #BagItForward mission to donate quality school supplies to a teacher or student in need, or to an organization that gives to students in need, and I couldn't feel any better than I do right now.
Since my daughter will be enrolled in school for the first time this fall and we were shopping for her back-to-school supplies, it was the perfect time to help another child in need who otherwise may not have everything necessary for a successful school year.
My family and I went to Walmart and started at the Elmer's in-store display where we downloaded the First Day App, using the QR code provided (see above).

The app is free and is really great resource for making memories for the first day of school and throughout the year for each of your children. From the app you can take photos or add photos from your mobile album, complete with details and tags. You can also start an album within the app for each child or event.
For every photo uploaded Elmer's will donate
one product to the Kids In Need Foundation
(KINF), up to 200,000 products
At the in-store display we pulled a school supply shopping list and used it as we loaded up on great deals throughout the store.
It's been so long since I attended grade school that I had no idea of some of the options available today. I found the Elmer's Washable Glue in Clear to be a great addition to our back-to-school supply kit and I picked up a few bottles of the traditional white glue too.

Here are the supplies I was able to purchase for less than $30 on my #BagItForward mission at Walmart. I found the prices to be excellent, and the quality of the supplies is very good so I'm sure they will last throughout the school year and beyond.
Participating in this mission was extremely important to me, because it was the perfect opportunity to teach my daughter the importance of helping others. Not because they ask, but because we care. We don't have everything we want, but we have what we need. Helping another child with what they need is important to me.
Donations really do make a difference!
There are many ways to help provide others with basic necessities and I encourage you to "bag it forward" with me.
A few of the many needs from most school supply lists are:
- Erasers
- Markers
- Pencils
- Glue
- Rulers
- Crayons
- Calculators
- Hand Sanitizer
- Folders
- Notebooks
Perhaps you don't know of an individual student who needs these items, but trust me, there is a teacher at nearly every school who does. Many teachers accept these supplies to provide for students in need, so be sure to donate when you can.
Every little bit helps!

What a wonderful thing. I don't have a smartphone, so this won't work for me. But you have inspired me to go buy some supplies to donate to my kindergarten teacher friends. Thanks for the idea.
