One of my favorite gifts from my baby showers was this Boppy Bare Naked Pillow. It really helped me to become more comfortable with Bella. It was easy to hold her and easier to feed her.
When she was really small I would prop her up on the pillow around my waist and let her fall asleep. You can purchase a lot of Boppy Slipcovers and rotate them as needed while you wash them.
Holding a baby can be intimidating for some people, especially if you're a first time mom or dad. It's great for letting little ones hold the baby as well.
As you can see Daddy got some use out of it too.
; )
The first couple of days that I had Bella home I was letting her sleep right next to my bed in her Graco Pack N Play. I was so paranoid to take my eyes off of her since I was a first time mom and she was a preemie, and I barely got any sleep.
Luckily, I found this First Years Close and Secure Sleeper. It fit right inside my bed and my husband and I wedged it right between us in the center. We both took turns watching her and I was able to get more rest.
It was perfect for nursing and it was very safe for her. She ate so frequently when she came home that I was exhausted. I also never worried about rolling on top of her since the way this is constructed is very sturdy. I would take it wherever I was in the house and she had a little bed to sleep in. Another cool thing about it was that it came with a little flashlight to peek in on her without having to turn the light on.
As you can see in the photo it was used to introduce her to her first couple of tummy times as well.
Isn't this outfit absolutely adorable. This is Bella's first Christmas dress. This made me realize how much fun it really is to have a Christmas baby. There's nothing like a "Baby Clause" all dressed in red under the tree.
Even though Bella arrived in October, seven weeks early, I couldn't resist putting her in these precious threads.
The Fisher-Price Aquarium Cradle Swing was a sleep-saver. I say sleep saver, because it helped us get rest on those nights when we thought we never would. It is awesome because it can swing front to back or side to side.
I have found it to be more soothing for Bella going side to side. Since every baby is different it's awesome to have the option. This Fisher Price line of swings is the berries. I have two of them. They are pricey, but worth it.
The great things about this swing are:
Music, lights, and aquatic sounds; the aquarium water globe with changing lights and swimming characters, a fish mobile; and six speeds, eight songs and three ocean sounds.
Bella loves the aquatic sounds. Most likely because they are similar to the womb environment.
Fisher Price has made some winners.
I can't say that I like the Fisher-Price Rainforest Cradle Swing. We brought it home and took it right back. It was not good for us at all. After getting so many nights of rest this purchase was a mistake. It costs a little more than the Fisher-Price Aquarium Cradle Swing and is a newer model, but I got a backache trying to bend down so low to put the baby in it. It also leans downward from the bum area, unlike the aquarium swing that has a bucket seat.
It's all about your preference though, and how your baby likes it.
Bathing baby can be a difficult task. So it really helps to have a reliable baby tub that is comfortable for you and your baby. A co-worker of mine purchased this Sure Comfort Newborn-to-Toddler Tub for Bella, and we love it. In the beginning stages babies are so small, so the net under them is comforting. Since Bella was a preemie it helped out a lot. It even caught that first poo that people forgot to tell me she would do when we put her in the water, hahaha!
As baby grows it's also great for them because of the wall that gives them support. I have found this tub to be a definite must have.
